Softball Splits With Carlow

MUNHALL, PA – The Pitt-Greensburg softball team played its first road AMCC doubleheader against Carlow at West Field on Wednesday. The Bobcats split with the Celtics, losing game one 2-1 and winning game two 4-3.
 
Game One:
 
The Bobcats celebrated the return of senior pitcher Melanie Mienke after missing the previous two weeks with an injury. Mienke pitched the full six innings, striking out four and giving up two earned runs. Hunter Taylor recorded two of the Bobcats' three hits in the game. Makenzie Lang had the lone RBI and went 1-for-3 in the game.
 
Game Two:
Game two saw Autumn Powell continue her dominance in the pitcher's circle, striking out three batters and not giving up a run through three innings. Paige Phillips came in for four innings of relief and earned her third win of the year. Phillips gave up two earned runs and left the tying run on second base.
 
Up next:
 
The Bobcats will have the weekend off from games but will return next Tuesday, April 8, as they host the Mounties of Mount Aloysius on the Pitt-Greensburg campus.
