Softball Splits with Mount Aloysius

GREENSBURG, PA – The Pitt-Greensburg softball team split with Mount Aloysius on Wednesday behind six doubles by the Bobcats, three of which came from sophomore Makenzie Lang. The Bobcats won game one 13-5 with six strikeouts by senior Melanie Mienke and dropped game two 4-0.
 
Game One
 
The Bobcats had 13 hits in game one, including five for extra bases. Three Bobcats had multiple hits, including Lang, who had three doubles in the game, and Kylie Karns, who also had three hits.
 
The Bobcats took advantage of five Mountie errors; five runs were unearned. Just one of Mienke's five runs was earned for the Bobcats.
 
Game Two
 
Autumn Powell pitched seven innings in game two, striking out five batters and allowing nine hits. Freshman Madyson Hart had two hits, including a double. Freshman Keira Rozanski played a sparkling second base with five putouts.
 
Pitt-Greensburg held Mount to a 1-0 lead until the fifth inning as the Mounties scored three runs in the final three frames.
Up next
 
The Bobcats will travel to New York to take on Alfred State this weekend. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
