CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND; Softball Defeats Altoona to Reach First Championship Series in Program History

BRADFORD, PA – A late-inning comeback has propelled the Pitt-Greensburg softball team into the Championship Series for the first time in program history. The Bobcats defeated Penn State Altoona 4-3. Autumn Powell earned her second win of the tournament in the circle for her ninth victory of the season.
 
The Bobcats were down 2-0 in the sixth inning before a Makenzie Lang two-run home run tied the game. The Bobcats took the lead with a Hunter Taylor two-run double in the seventh inning. Altoona pushed the Bobcats to the limit in the bottom of the innings, as they scored a run and had the tying run at second base. Powell shut it down as she forced a popup to the shortstop to end the game.
 
The Bobcats will wait to see who they will face in the championship series. The first pitch will be tomorrow at 9 a.m. To be crowned AMCC Champions, the Bobcats will have to win just one game.
