Baseball Falls to Alfred State in AMCC Tournament

JOHNSTOWN, PA – After a night of joy and excitement, the Pitt-Greensburg baseball season ended in a somber end to their quest for the AMCC Tournament Championship. The Bobcats fell to Alfred State 7-5 in game eight of the tournament.
 
The Bobcats were led by junior James Domer, who had two solo home runs. Thomas Smith also had a home run for the Bobcats. The third inning had four home runs between the two teams. Domer and Solinski's home run putt he Bobcats up 2-0. The Pioneers then hit two home runs themselves, as well as a two-RBI single to take a 6-2 lead. Pitt-Greensburg brought the game within one with a Diego Santos double and a Jonah Marks fielder's choice. A balk in the seventh inning, putting Alfred State up 7-5.
 
Matt Mazzara and JJ Siemon combined to pitch the game for Pitt-Greensburg, with Mazzara pitching 3.2 innings. Siemon came in and pitched solid in relief, going 4.1 innings and giving up one run, unearned.
