Softball Sweeps Away Competition in Day One of AMCC Tournament

BRADFORD, PA – It takes two to make a thing go right. That was the motto for the Pitt-Greensburg softball team as they swept away Hilbert and Mount Aloysius en route to a 2-0 record in the AMCC Softball Tournament hosted by Pitt-Bradford.
 
Hunter Taylor herself had a day as she doubled her home run total for the season, belting two over the fence in the two games. Autumn Powell and Melanie Mienke earned the wins in the game, both going for complete games. The duo combined for 15 strikeouts in the doubleheader. Both pitchers gave up one earned run. They also both recorded their eighth win of the season.
 
Headlined by Taylor, the Bobcats' offense had 13 hits on the day. In game two, Taylor had three hits, while Jadyn Davis had two, setting the table for the rest of the lineup. Freshman Shelby Cloak hit a triple in game one.
 
The Bobcats will play the winner of Penn State Altoona and Penn State Behrend on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Bradford.
