The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team opened their 2025 season with a tough 4-0 loss to Saint Vincent College on Friday evening. Despite a strong showing in the attacking third and a total of 16 shots, the Bobcats were unable to find the back of the net.
Saint Vincent struck early in the 17th minute with a goal from Cori Bieber, assisted by Addie Fisher. The Bearcats added three more goals in the second half, including strikes from Jordan Kirkwood, Jude Galvin, and Alexis Arlaus, sealing the win.
Pitt-Greensburg goalkeeper Mia Camps played the full 90 minutes and recorded one save, facing 11 shots from Saint Vincent. On the offensive side, Riley Gesinski led the Bobcats with four shots, one on goal, while Isabella Swartz and Maya Wertelet each contributed two shots apiece.
Despite the scoreline, the Bobcats showed promise with a higher shot count and more corner kicks than their opponents. The team will look to build on this performance as they hit the road Monday to take on Oberlin. Kickoff is set for 2pm.
