The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team dropped a tough non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon, falling 6-0 to undefeated Lycoming College at UPMC Field.
Lycoming opened the scoring early with a penalty kick conversion by Ella Magee in the third minute. Magee would go on to complete a first-half hat trick, scoring again off a corner kick and a free kick just outside the box. The Warriors added three more goals in the second half, including a one-timer from Julia Bidelspach and a solo effort by Mikayla Long.
Despite the final scoreline, the Bobcats showed moments of promise throughout the contest, generating seven total shots and earning six corner kicks. Sierra Frisoli and Sarah Folmer each recorded a shot on goal, while Megan Hickey led the team with two shot attempts.
In goal, Mia Camps turned in a busy performance, making eight saves while playing all 90 minutes. Camps faced 21 shots from a high-powered Lycoming offense that has now scored 32Â goals through its first six matches.
The Bobcats will face another tough test tomorrow on the road against a Penn College team that is undefeated on the season and outscoring opponents 17-1 in five games. Kickoff is scheduled for 1PM.
