Bobcats Rout Presidents 6-0

Reyes and Carroto score twice, Camps shuts out W&J

The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team put together a complete performance on Saturday afternoon at Ridilla Field, cruising to a 6-0 win over Washington & Jefferson in non-conference play.

The Bobcats (3-5-1) scored three goals in each half and outshot the Presidents 19-3, controlling possession and tempo from start to finish. Forward Emma Reyes led the way with two second-half goals, while Bella Carroto added two goals and an assist in a breakout performance off the bench.

Megan Hickey opened the scoring in the 10th minute off a feed from Maya Wertelet, and Reese Walker followed with a goal in the 23rd minute assisted by Tiger Santia. Carroto capped the first-half scoring in the 39th minute, converting a pass from Layla Widenhofer, who tallied her first collegiate point.

In the second half, Carroto struck again in the 83rd minute, assisted by Reyes, who then scored twice in the final minutes—first in the 87th minute off a Carroto assist, and again unassisted with 3 seconds left on the clock—to seal the emphatic win.

Goalkeeper Mia Camps earned her first shutout of the season, making three saves behind a disciplined defensive unit that allowed just three total shots.

"We've been struggling lately and it's nice to pick up a big win," said Carroto. "I'm proud of our whole team and glad I could produce and get on the scoresheet." She also credited the team's preparation for the dominant showing: "Practice focused on playing our zone and we were picture perfect in that today."

The Bobcats return to the pitch for one final tune-up before conference play as they play host to John Carroll on Wednesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4PM.
