Men's Soccer Earns Draw at Albright

The Pitt-Greensburg men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against Albright College on Saturday evening at Shirk Stadium.

Matt Armenio opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, finishing a well-placed assist from Arlo McIntyre to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. The goal was Armenio's fourth of the season and McIntyre's first assist.

Albright equalized in the 84th minute on a goal from Brady Devito, and despite a late push from both sides, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Nick Braun was a difference-maker in net, recording seven saves on 15 Albright shots, including several crucial stops to keep the Bobcats in the match, as 11 of the Lions' shots came in the second half.

Head Coach Marc Bucci praised the efforts of his team, particularly Braun and McIntyre:

"Arlo and Braun had stand-out games that kept us competitive. It's unfortunate to give up the late goal, but I feel the tie is a fair result," Bucci said. "There were positives tonight that leave us feeling good going into the start of conference play Tuesday. If we can maintain some consistency from our attackers, we feel every game is winnable for us."

Bucci also acknowledged the challenge posed by Albright:

"Albright was a difficult side. It's a similar type of opponent that we'll see Tuesday with Altoona, so we hope to build off the positives and watch the film over in order to patch up some of our mistakes."

The Bobcats end the non-conference portion of their schedule 3-4-3 and look to carry the momentum from tonight's performance into their conference slate. Pitt-Greensburg will open AMCC play on Tuesday as they host Penn State Altoona with kick-off scheduled for 4PM at Ridilla Field.
