The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team continued its early-season campaign with a home matchup against Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday evening at Chambers Hall. Despite a 3-0 loss (10-25, 12-25, 16-25), the Bobcats showed encouraging signs of growth throughout the match. After a slow start, the team steadily improved its offensive rhythm, increasing its kill count and hitting percentage in each set. The third set featured three tie scores and a lead change, highlighting the team's resilience and ability to compete against a strong opponent.
Junior Mia Stohon led the Bobcats with 11 kills and a .409 hitting percentage, providing a consistent offensive spark. Lilly Buckles turned in a well-rounded performance with 5 kills, 20 assists, and 10 digs, while Paige Phillips added 3 kills and contributed at the net with a solo block and a block assist. Defensively, the Bobcats were anchored by solid efforts from Grace Bradley and Megan Cassaday, who had 9 digs apiece.
Though the team remains winless at 0-4, the steady improvement in execution and energy suggests that the Bobcats are beginning to find their rhythm. With continued development and growing chemistry, Pitt-Greensburg is laying the foundation for a competitive season. The Bobcats hit the road this weekend for a tri-match hosted by Chatham, where they will take on the hosts as well as Wilson College. Game one is scheduled for 12PM.
