The Pitt‑Greensburg women's basketball team dropped a 92–38 decision on the road Wednesday night at La Roche, despite a strong individual performance from sophomore guard Jocelyn Bielak, who posted a game‑high 21 points to go with six rebounds and two steals.
La Roche pressured the Bobcats early, forcing a series of tough shots and turnovers in the opening minutes. Pitt‑Greensburg went scoreless until the 3:18 mark of the first quarter, when Bielak drew a foul in transition and split a pair of free throws for the team's first point. After Ca'Mari Walden converted two free throws on the next trip, the Bobcats cut the deficit to 8–3, capping a stretch in which they held La Roche without a field goal for over two minutes. A late jumper by Abby Henise kept Pitt‑Greensburg within single digits, but a three-pointer by the Redhawks' Jazmine Dunn at the buzzer made it 17–6 after one.
The second quarter saw the Bobcats put together their most productive offensive stretch of the night, scoring 23 points while shooting 50 percent from the floor. Bielak sparked the surge with a pair of free throws and a finish at the rim, while Henise continued to dominate the glass—she would finish with 20 rebounds, the highest single-game total for any Bobcat this season. At the 5:16 mark, Bielak connected on a layup following an offensive rebound, and two minutes later she added a putback tip‑in to bring the Bobcats within 32–24, their narrowest margin since early in the contest.
Walden contributed a pair of strong drives midway through the period, cutting into the deficit with a layup and a three‑point play to make it 18–30. The Bobcats continued their push when Bielak drilled the team's lone three‑pointer of the evening with 1:18 remaining in the half, reducing the La Roche lead to 35–27. However, the Redhawks responded with back‑to‑back three‑pointers in the final minute to stretch the gap to 40–29 at the break.
After halftime, Pitt‑Greensburg struggled to regain its rhythm against an aggressive La Roche defense. The Bobcats were limited to just three points in the third quarter, all coming on a mid‑range jumper from Bielak at the 5:41 mark. Despite Henise continuing to battle on the boards and multiple defensive stops created by Walden and Phoebe Snyder, La Roche's transition offense helped the home team pull away.
In the fourth quarter, Pitt‑Greensburg kept fighting, highlighted by Henise converting her own offensive rebound for a tip‑in with 2:50 remaining and Bielak adding another strong layup inside earlier in the frame. Kaprice Johnson and Snyder provided defensive energy off the bench, with Johnson collecting multiple rebounds and a steal during the final stretch.
Bielak led all Pitt‑Greensburg scorers with 21 points on 7‑of‑19 shooting, while Walden added 10 points and six assists, tying her season high. Henise's dominant 20‑rebound performance—including 15 boards in the first half—marked one of the top rebounding efforts in program history.
As a team, the Bobcats pulled down 35 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass.
