The Pitt-Greensburg Women and Men's cross-country teams opened it's 2026 season Friday at Westmoreland County Community College Invitational. With both squads gaining experience against an incredibly competitive field.  

Women's Highlights  

Freshman Isabella Hicks let Pitt-Greensburg in her collegiate debut, placing 18th overall with a time of 26:18:1.  

Victoria Maher followed in 19th with a time of 28:53:1, while Jocelyn Bielak finished just behind her in 20th with a time of 28:57:3.  

Elaina Funk added a 24th-place finish in 30:36.8, while Nadia Salifu Ahmed rounded out the Bobcat's scoring five in 31:27:3. Just outside of the scoring five, Carinna Darragh placed 27th in 31:32:4, followed by Caroline Davis in 36th at 37:29:9.  

"Team gained a lot of experience in their first race of the season and over half the teams first in college," Head Coach Jeremy Eshleman said. 

This performance was an encouraging start for the young Bobcat squad. 

Men's Highlights  

The Pitt-Greensburg men's cross-country team turned in an impressive performance at the season-opening invitational, finishing third overall with 79 points.  

Edir Sid Mohand led the Bobcats with an impressive 3rd place finish, crossing the line in 18:14:1. 

"Edir impressed with his 3rd place and just missing his PR from last season."  

Behind Edir, Anthony Zona placed 11th with a time of 19:54:3, while David Brokaw followed closely in 13th at 20:35:2. The Bobcats then got scoring performances from Logan Brenneman who finished 32nd in 31:00:2, and Jilani Turner who placed 35th with a time of 33:14:7.    

"Men were the top AMCC school at this invite," Eshleman said 

The Bobcats return into action September 12th at the Bethany Invitational.
