Craig Hallman begins his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Pitt-Greensburg men’s basketball team in 2020.

In his third season assisting the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball program, Hallman was helped guide the Bobcats to its first 20-win campaign since the 1999-00 season. UPG posted a 20-9 overall record and earned the no. 2 seed in the AMCC Tournament. Pitt-Greensburg posted the best start (7-1) and final winning percentage (.769) since joining the NCAA in 1997. The team went 12-1 on their home court, which is the best home record in 14 years.

The Bobcats were rewarded for their success with Matt Johnson (First Team), Cam Seigfreid (Second Team), and JoJo France (3rd Team) all earning All-Conference accoclades. Seigfreid became the newest member of the 1,000-point club for the Bobcats with a seven point, eight rebound effort against Medaille.

In his first season working with the program, the Bobcats improved their win total and became one of the AMCC’s top defensive teams, despite having a roster with just one senior and two upperclassmen. Pitt-Greensburg held opponents to just 40.8% shooting from the field, which led the conference and also set a new single-season program record. The Bobcats also ranked as one of the top teams defensively in terms of blocks, as they ranked second in blocks-per-game (4.6), which also tied the single-season school record.

The Ellwood City, Pa native graduated from Riverside Senior High School where he set career and single-season records for field goal percentage and blocked shots, as well as the career record for rebounds. He also was a state finalist in High Jump and was voted the 2003 Riverside High School Student Athlete of the Year.

Hallman played collegiately at Grove City College where he was a three-year letter winner and named Team Captain prior to his senior season. Hallman was an All-Presidents Athletic Conference Honorable Mention selection in 2007, and also that same year helped guide the Wolverines to the 2007 PAC Tournament Title. During his time at Grove City, Hallman also participated on the track and field team and received the Grove City College Athletic Department Recognition for Character, Work Ethic, Scholarship, and Integrity.

After graduating from Grove City with a bachelor’s degree in history, Hallman spent the next two academic years at Xavier University, earning a master’s degree in sports administration.  During graduate school he also worked as an athletic academic advisor with the Musketeers under head coach Sean Miller. The Musketeers made an incredible run to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament where they eventually fell to UCLA and future NBA All-Stars, Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook.

In 2010 Hallman played basketball overseas in the PBBA (Palestinian Basketball Association), representing De La Salle Jerusalem during a brief tour with Athletes in Action.

Hallman was also an assistant varsity men’s basketball coach at Roger Bacon Senior High School (2007-08) in Cincinnati, Ohio as well as at his alma mater Riverside Senior High School (2008-14).
