Dan Keefe enters his fourth season as head coach of the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg’s men’s soccer program in 2018.

This past season in 2017, Keefe guided the Bobcats to a four-win improvement, including posting victories in the final two matches to end the regular-season. The Bobcats defeated Penn State Altoona in overtime on a 95th minute strike from Nick Thomas.

Despite a tough 2016 campaign, Keefe kept the players engaged throughout the season and the efforts paid ass, as they earned a 3-0 shutout victory over Hilbert in the regular-season finale, which also served as the team’s Senior Day.

Keefe joined the Pitt-Greensburg men’s soccer coaching staff for the 2014 season as an assistant coach and was responsible for assisting in all aspects of the program, including leading the development of the program’s goalkeepers.

Following the 2014 season, head coach Robert Spain promoted Keefe from assistant coach to associate head coach.

In his first year on staff, Keefe helped the Bobcats complete the 2014 season with one of the largest one-year improvements in NCAA Division III history, recording a 12-7-1 mark in 2014 after a 3-16 record in 2013. Pitt-Greensburg ended the 2014 season with the program’s best season in a decade, culminating in the program’s best conference regular season finish and best conference tournament finish since 2004. The 2014 season was also the first post-season win in a decade, the first time hosting a playoff game in a decade and the winningest overall record in a decade. Under Keefe’s tutelage in 2014, junior goalkeeper Brandon Galley was twice named Pitt-Greensburg Male Athlete of the Week, twice named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week, and earned spots on the AMCC All-Tournament Team and the AMCC All-Conference Third Team. In 2014 Keefe helped the goalkeeper unit as a whole cut their goals against average from 2.52 in 2013 to 1.31 in 2014, as well as dropping their goals against from 49 a year ago to 27 in 2014.

Prior to Pitt-Greensburg Keefe spent two years as an undergraduate assistant at NCAA Division I institution Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ, working under former US U-17 National Team coach Gerson Echeverry. Keefe graduated from SHU with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

Hailing from Hamilton, NJ Keefe played three seasons as a goalkeeper for Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Keefe has been involved with numerous clubs throughout Central Jersey and was the Director of Goalkeeping for both West Windsor Plainsboro Soccer Association and Match Ready Soccer. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and holds a national NSCAA diploma.
