Derick Vogelman

DJ Vogelman will begin his third season as an assistant coach at University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg’s coaching staff.

DJ had been part of the Bobcats coaching staff for two AMCC Playoff Runs and a berth into the ECAC Tournament in 2022. The Bobcats hosted and won its first AMCC Playoff match since 2014. The Bobcats made it to the AMCC semifinals in 2022. 

Priorr to joining the UPG coaching staff, DJ gained his coaching experience at Philadelphia  Soccer Club after graduating in the spring of 2019. DJ was the head coach of PSC Coppa 11 Blues. 

Vogelman attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where he played and started for 4 years. Vogelman started in 64 of the possible 66 games. Head Coach Marc Bucci joined the UPJ staff for the 2018 season, assisting in coaching Vogelman as the first and only PSAC player of the week in program history. Vogelman served as a 2 year captain. He led the mountain cats in points both his junior and senior campaigns. 

Vogelman is born and raised from Northeast Philadelphia where he attended Father Judge High School and played for numerous clubs. Vogelman started for Father Judge as they were ranked in the top 25 nationally winning the Philadelphia Catholic League and advancing to the PIAA AAAA state playoffs. As a senior, Vogelman was selected to the All Catholic Selection Team. Vogelman played for PSC Coppa and Yardley Makefield Soccer (YMS) consistently ranked top 60 in the nation as well as top 5 in PA.
