Marc Bucci enters his seventh season in 2026 as Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer program, continuing a steady rise since taking over prior to the 2019 season.

The program has seen consistent growth under Bucci, highlighted by five consecutive conference playoff appearances and multiple postseason runs. Most recently, the 2025 season featured several milestones, including a signature victory over Penn State Behrend—the program’s first since 2004—along with five All-Conference selections.

In 2024, Bucci steered a young team, including 14 newcomers, only 3 seniors, one in which endured a season ending injury in preseason, to another AMCC semifinal berth.  Sophomore Matt Armenio was the team's solo All-Conference selection.

Bucci guided the 2023 squad to its first 10-win season since 2014 while reaching the AMCC Semifinals in back-to-back years, marking the program’s best two-year stretch since 2003–04. The team also earned an ECAC berth, while producing four All-Conference players, the AMCC Newcomer of the Year (Matt Armenio), and a United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection (Zander Plizga).

In 2022, Bucci led the Bobcats to one of their most successful seasons in nearly a decade, hosting a home playoff game for the first time since 2014 and securing their first postseason win since that season. The team advanced to the ECAC Quarterfinals—its first appearance since 2002—and produced five All-Conference selections and the AMCC Newcomer of the Year (Caleb Yuricha). Bucci was named AMCC Coach of the Year following the campaign.

After a canceled 2020 season, Bucci guided the program back to the playoffs in 2021—its first appearance since 2014—marking a rapid turnaround from a three-win 2019 season.

Overall, Bucci has coached one United Soccer Coaches All-Region player, multiple ECAC award winners, and 17 All-Conference selections.

Bucci returned to the program after serving as an assistant coach in 2017 and at Pitt-Johnstown in 2018 before being named head coach in April 2019. He previously served as head coach at Gateway High School, leading the program to its first playoff berth in nine years, and has extensive club experience with Allegheny Force FC and Century United, including multiple PA West State Cup titles and a Youth National Championship bid.

A former four-year starter and three-time captain at Pitt-Johnstown, Bucci earned All-Conference honors and later served as a student assistant coach. He is a graduate of Plum High School, where he was a WPIAL champion and All-WPIAL selection.

Bucci holds a U.S. Soccer Federation “D” License.
