Chris Fabian

Chris Fabian is entering his ninth year with the Pitt-Greensburg Women’s Soccer coaching staff for the 2020 season. Fabian acts as the recruiting coordinator for the Bobcats and also assists with the day to day operations of team management as well as player development.

This past season (2019), Fabian helped guide the Bobcats to their best season in team history, capturing the program's first AMCC Regular-Season and Tournament Championship as well as NCAA Tournament appearance. Pitt-Greensburg posted a 18-0-1 record and the home field advantage throughout the AMCC Playoffs.The Bobcats advanced to their second-ever AMCC Championship Appearance with a 1-0 overtime victory over D'Youville on a 97th minute header from Tiffany Michalek. The Bobcats then would claim the 2019 AMCC Tournament Title by a 3-2 victory over Penn State Appearance and receive the conference's auotmatic bid in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament, where they faced the University of Chicago. 

For their efforts, freshman forward Ashley Lucas was named AMCC Newcomer and Player of the Year, goalkeeper Lauren Yoder was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Chuck Wigle was named Coach of the YearIn total,Pitt-Greensburg has six of its players land on All-Conference Teams (Lucas- 1st Team, Michalek- 1st Team, Yoder- 1st Team, Alexsia Barlamas- 1st Team, Tori Conroy- 1st Team, Brooke Ianarelli- 3rd Team). Lucas, Conroy, and Michalek were also named to All-Region Teams. 

During his tenure, Fabian has helped to recruit 24 All-Conference players as well as Kayleen Schwegler,Jessica Moore, and Ashley Lucas, who each earned AMCC Newcomer of the Year honors.

Fabian assisted with the development of Bri Burgunder, who went on to earn four All-Conference selections and two All-Region accoclades. The 2018 AMCC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, ended her Pitt-Greensburg career ranked top-10 in program history in points (2nd-105), goals (2nd-43), assists (3rd- 19), goals per game (3rd-0.60), and assists per game (5th-0.26).

The Bobcats made history in 2016, becoming just the second  in program history to earn the no. 2 seed in the AMCC Playoffs, where they earned the program’s first Tournament semifinal victory with a 2-0 victory over Pitt-Bradford and advanced the Championship Game. The Championship Game appearance was the first in team history.

Prior to joining the Lady Bobcats, Coach Fabian was the Head Boys coach at Southmoreland High School where his team won a section championship in 2010.  Coach Fabian has also coached with Penns Forest F.C., Foothills SC, in addition to numerous coaching positions throughout Western Pennsylvania.  A member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, Fabian will continue to serve the program in the day to day operations of team management, player development, and as recruiting coordinator.

Fabian is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America lives in Scottdale, PA where he is a history teacher at Southmoreland High School.
