Kylynn Smith enters her first season as assistant coach for the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg's volleyball program in 2018, after serving as head coach for the last three seasons.
Smith guided the Bobcats to a banner season in 2016, posting its most victories (8) since the 2008 and clinched the program’s first AMCC playoff berth since 2009.
Smith recruited Amanda Ross, Paige Misawic, and Erica Bosh who each became the school’s leaders in blocks, assists, and digs respectively.
Ross ended her four-year playing career as the school’s leader in total blocks (151), block assists (88), and ranks second in solo blocks (81). Misawic ended as the school’s leader with 1,435 assists, and Bosh completed her Bobcat career as the school’s career leader in digs (1,407), and ranked third in both sets played (336) and matches played (99).
Smith was elevated to head coach of the volleyball program in 2015 after spending two season as assistant coach under LeRoy Simms.
A four-year member of the women’s volleyball team under Coach Simms, Smith appeared in 81 career matches, compiling 352 kills, 317 digs and 123 total blocks. She was also the 2010 Pitt-Greensburg Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Smith, graduated from Pitt-Greensburg in 2010 with a degree in psychology with a minor in gender studies. She went on to graduate with her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Aside from her duties at Pitt-Greensburg, Smith is employed in the mental health field where she works with children, adolescents and adults.
