Lady Bobcats lose a pair of non-conference contests

BETHANY, Wv:  The Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team lost a pair of non-conference contests Wednesday evening, fall to Penn State Fayette and Bethany College.

Both contests were held at Bethany College, with UPG dropping the first game to Fayette, 3-0 (21-25, 11-25, 16-25).  In game one against Fayette, the Lady Bobcats were led offensively by senior Jaime Barkman (Aliquippa, PA, Hopewell) and freshman Lauren Tassone (Venetia, PA, Peters Township)  who each recorded 4 kills.  Paige Misawic (Levittown, PA, Pennsbury) chipped in 15 assists while senior Kaitlyn Wyland (Chester Springs, PA, Bishop Carroll) led the Bobcat defense with 14 digs.

In game two, UPG squared off against the host team, Bethany College.  The Bisons won in straight sets, 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-10).  Barkman again paced the Bobcat attack with 8 kills and 3 aces while freshman Emily Zelenka (Scottdale, PA, Southmoreland) added 4 kills of her own.  Misawic set up the attack with 14 assists while Wyland had a team high 11 digs. 

Pitt-Greensburg (1-6) returns to the court tonight when they host Washington & Jefferson College in a non-conference matchup at 7pm in Chambers Hall
