GROVE CITY, Pa: A late second half surge fell short for the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team as they lost on the road Wednesday night at Grove City College, 80-73.
Grove City moves to 2-0 on the young season while the Bobcats drop to 0-2.
After trailing nearly the entire way, Pitt-Greensburg made a furious run in the last few minutes of the second half, getting within a basket of tying the game. A
Jerell Figueroa jumper with 1:28 left on the clock pulled the Bobcats within 2 points at 73-71, however that would be as close as they would get as the Wolverines held on for the victory.

Rocco Contristano chipped in 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals while senior
Brian Heinle added 12 points and 5 rebounds.

Despite the furious comeback late, the Bobcats shot just 3 of 16 (18.75%) from three point range in the second half, while the Wolverines kept shooting at a remarkable clip, 11 of 18 in the second half to finish at 63% for the night. UPG was outrebounded on the night 38-29 but the Bobcats were able to force 22 Wolverine turnovers which led to 24 points on the night.
