GREENSBURG, PA: The women's volleyball team took on Mount Aloysius College in an AMCC contest, falling in four sets, 3-1.
It was a hard fought battle, but the Bobcats fell short, falling to 0-11 overall and 0-3 in conference.
All four sets were very close battles between both teams. Mt. Aloysius jumped off to an early lead winning the first set 25-21, but Pitt-Greensburg bounced right back winning the second set 26-24. The pivotal third set went to Mt. Aloysius with a score of 25-22. The Bobcats jumped out in front in the fourth set, but the Mounties were able to fight back and clinch the victory with a score of 26-24.
The offensive attack was led by freshman Megan Kirkpatrick and junior Paige Misawic. Kirkpatrick tallied 12 kills to lead the team as well as, registering 3 serving aces. Misawic assisted on 29 of the Bobcat's total kills.
The defense was led by junior Lauren Tassone and Misawic. Tassone registered 4 blocks on the evening and Misawic led with 10 digs. Many other players helped contribute to the team including, junior Renee Ault and junior Elizabeth Gerda who each registered 8 kills, senior Kara Barclay who registered 2 blocks, junior Julie Barron and sophomore Erica Bosh who each added instant offense with an ace, and Tassone and Barron registered 8 and 6 kills respectively.
Pitt-Greensburg will be looking to turn things around on the road when they take on Penn State Altoona in a conference matchup beginning at 7pm.
