GREENSBURG, PA: Monday night the Pitt-Greensburg and Saint Vincent women's volleyball teams squared off in a non-conference matchup to benefit breast cancer awareness.
Saint Vincent College won the contest in three sets, to improve to 10-13 on the season while Pitt-Greensburg dropped to 0-13 on the year.
Pitt-Greensburg lost in straight sets with scores 25-12, 25-17, and 25-23. The offense provided by Pitt-Greensburg was led by junior Lauren Tassone, junior Renee Ault, and junior Paige Misawic. Tassone and Ault both tallied 7 kills on the evening to lead the team, while Misawic collected 15 total assists. The Bobcats defense was led by multiple different players. Tassone had two blocks on the night to lead the team, and tonight's total digs were led by a trio of players consisting of freshman Marla Shaffer, junior Elizabeth Gerda, and Renee Ault. They collected 8, 7, and 7 digs respectively.
Pitt-Greensburg will continue to fight for their elusive first win this season when they take on LaRoche College in a conference matchup on Wednesday. The game will be held at LaRoche, first set begins at 7pm.
