Pittsburgh, PA: The Lady Bobcats volleyball team got off to a fast start, winning their first set, but dropped three consecutive close sets and the match to La Roche College, 3-1 Wednesday night.
All four sets were very close between both teams. Pitt-Greensburg took the early lead winning the first set 25-22, but LaRoche bounced right back winning the second set 25-20. The Redhawks would maintain control of the match by winning the third set 25-16, and defeating the Bobcats in the fourth set with a score of 26-24.
The offensive attack was led by junior Lauren Tassone, who racked up 12 kills on the evening to lead the team, and junior Paige Misawic who assisted on an incredible 28 of Pitt-Greensburg's total kills. Three different players added instant offense each with a service ace including, Tassone, senior Kara Barclay, and sophomore Erica Bosh.
The defense was led by Misawic and freshman Megan Kirkpatrick. Misawic led the team in digs with a total of 16, while Kirkpatrick tallied 3 blocks on the evening.
Pitt-Greensburg will have a break in conference play this Monday when they take on Chatham University in a non-conference home matchup. The match is set for Monday October 19
th at 7pm in Chambers Hall.
