GREENSBURG, Pa: Today the women's volleyball team took on Chatham University in a non conference match. The Bobcats got their first win of the season with a three set sweep of the Cougars. The team improved to 1-14 overall with tonight's victory.
Pitt-Greensburg jumped out to an early lead, winning set one with a score of 25-18, and never looked back. They continued their strong play in the second set winning 25-14 and dominated the third set with a score of 25-13.
The offense provided by Pitt-Greensburg was led by freshman Megan Kirkpatrick, freshman Autumn Karlheim, and junior Paige Misawic. Kirkpatrick and Karlheim both led the team with 8 kills each. Misawic assisted on 20 of the Bobcats' total kills. The Bobcat serves were on point today, as 3 players collected 2 aces each. This includes senior Kara Barclay, junior Lauren Tassone, and sophomore Erica Bosh.
Tonight's defense was led by several players. Junior Renee Ault led the team with 9 digs, with Barclay and Bosh were right behind collecting 7 and 6 digs respectively. Tassone led the team with 4 total blocks, while Karlheim and Kirkpatrick also had 2 blocks a piece. Tonight was a very good team win for the Bobcats, with many players contributing to the victory.
Pitt-Greensburg will be looking to streak two wins together when they take on Franciscan University in a tough conference matchup at home on Wednesday evening. The first set begins at 7pm.
