GREENSBURG, PA:  The women's volleyball team took on Franciscan University in a conference match Wednesday evening, falling in a hard fought battle in 5 sets to fall to 1-15 overall and 0-6 in conference play.

Pitt-Greensburg came out on fire and jumped off to an early lead winning set one 25-17. Franciscan was able to bounce right back and win the second set 25-18. The important third set would go to the Bobcats with a score of 25-20 to put them up two sets to one.

Franciscan once again was able to bounce back and even things up by winning set four 25-15. In the fifth and final set Pitt-Greensburg lost a key player as junior Paige Misawic would go down with an injury, after diving for a ball. Unfortunately, Franciscan carried their momentum into the fifth set and came out with the victory with a score of 15-8.

The offense provided by Pitt-Greensburg was led by junior Lauren Tassone and Misawic. Tassone led the team in kills with 12 and also in aces, as she would tally 3 on the evening. Misawic assisted on 27 of the Bobcat's total kills and would also add 2 aces herself. Freshman Chloe Seiler would also add some instant offense with an ace.

The Bobcats defense was also led by Tassone. She would collect 2 blocks on the evening as well as 15 digs to lead the team. Sophmore Erica Bosh tallied 13 digs, and junior Elizabeth Gerda would add an additional 12 digs for the defense.

Pitt-Greensburg will head up to New York this weekend to take on Medaille College and Hilbert College on Saturday in two conference matches. Both games will be held at Medaille College. Pitt-Greensburg's first match will begin at 10am and their second match of the day will start at 2pm.
