BUFFALO, NY: A Saturday trip to Medaille College resulted in a tough 75-67 road loss for the Bobcats in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Game of the Week.
Pitt-Greensburg remains in third place in the AMCC after the loss drops them to 9-5 and 13-8 overall as Medaille remains in fifth place and moves to 7-7 in conference play and 8-13 on the season.
After four lead changes and a four ties over the game's opening nine and a half minutes, the Bobcats would find themselves trailing by two with 10:28 remaining in the first. They'd have to play catch-up for the remainder of the half, trailing by as many as nine, but a
Morgan Biddle (Flinton, PA, Glendale) layup would cut the deficit to five at 32-27 before the halftime buzzer sounded. UPG would finish the first converting 32% of their shots from the floor to Medaille's 39% and trail in the rebound department 24-15.
Pitt-Greensburg would fight back in the second, pulling even on three occasions, the latter coming on two free throws by
Kayla Dames (Oakdale, PA, Chartiers Valley) at the 12:45 mark that knotted things up at 40-40. A jumper by Biddle on the next offensive possession would put UPG up by two, but unfortunately for the Bobcats it would be their last lead of the game. The Mavericks would pull away down the stretch, eventually winning by a 75-67 score.
Four Bobcats would finish in double figures with Dames leading the way with an 18 point 10 rebound performance that included two steals and a block. Biddle would finish with 15 points, eight rebounds, four blocks, and a steal, while
