Bradford, PA: The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team dropped both matches on Saturday afternoon to begin their conference play. They fell to Penn State Behrend in their first match and Pitt Bradford in their second match of the day.
In the first match, Pitt-Greensburg fell in three consecutive sets against Penn State Behrend with scores 25-14, 25-12, and 25-21. Junior Lauren Tassone led the Bobcats offense with 7 kills, while junior Paige Misawic tallied 13 assists. The defense was led by Tassone, sophomore Erica Bosh, and junior Renee Ault. Both Tassone and Bosh collected 15 digs to lead the team, and Ault led the team with two blocks.
In the second match, the Bobcats again fell in three consecutive sets against Pitt Bradford with scores 25-14, 25-12, and 25-18. Lauren Tassone led the team with 8 kills and Paige Misawic led with 12 assists. The defense was led by several different people. Renee Ault tallied 7 digs, Misawic tallied 6 digs as well as a block, Erica Bosh collected 5 digs, and junior Julie Barron also had a block.
Pitt-Greensburg fell to 0-10 and 0-2 in conference play today and will be looking for its first win of the season at home on Wednesday against Mount Aloysius College in a conference matchup. The match begins at 7pm.
