WAYNESBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team split its final two non-conference matches of the season, defeating Waynesburg (3-0) and falling to Thiel (3-0) on Saturday afternoon at Waynesburg University.
With seven wins this season, Pitt-Greensburg matches its highest win single-season win total since 2011.
The Bobcats had a productive day on the offensive side with a .226 hitting percentage and limited its opponents to just .206.
Lauren Tassone led the way with 22 kills on 44 attempts for a .341 hitting percentage, while
Renee' Ault and
Amanda Ross each had solid days with 13 kills.
Tassone,
Elizabeth Gerda, and
Emma Dongilli had great serves on the afternoon as they each totaled two service aces and as a team Pitt-Greensburg had 10 service-aces compared to just four for Waynesburg and Thiel.
Defensively,
Erica Bosh was solid with 27 digs and
Paige Burk was also in double-figures with 11, while Ross and Burk proved to be extremely difficult for the visitors with three blocks in the two matches.
Paige Misawic was solid in the final two non-conference games of her career as she totaled 34 assists.
Pitt-Greensburg returns to the court for its final road game of the season Tuesday, when it travels to Steubenville to face Fransican at 7:00 p.m.
