GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team lost in five-sets to visiting La Roche in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup on Tuesday evening in Chambers Hall Gymnasium.
This was the first loss at home for the Bobcats as they had entered the match holding a perfect 3-0 record.
Pitt-Greensburg dropped the opening set 25-15, but countered winning the second and third sets 25-16 and 25-21. La Roche answered taking the fourth set 25-21, and would win the fifth set and ultimately the match 15-11.
Renee' Ault led the way for Pitt-Greensburg tallying a team-high 13 kills and right behind the senior was
Lauren Tassone who added 12 tallies.
Amanda Ross put forth a staunch effort on the defensive end with five blocks while Tassone added four, and
Emma Dongilli once again did a great job of providing great sets, as the freshman totaled 16 assists.
Ault, a force on the offensive end also chipped in defensively, leading the team with 18 digs, while
Erica Bosh and Dongilli were equally effective with 17 and 15 digs respectively.
La Roche was led by Laura Nath who was a force for the Red Hawks with 21 kills, while defensively Hannah Scott was all over the court totaling 39 digs on the evening.
The Bobcats return to the court this weekend for two non-conference games, as it faces Denison at 3:00 p.m. and host Hiram at 5:00 p.m.
