GREENSBURG-
Joe Mancini totaled 18 points on 7-of-11 from the field and hit 4-of-7 from behind the three-point arc, but Medaille (3-3, 1-0 AMCC) shot 48.6% from the field in a 90-57 win over the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team (0-5, 0-2 AMCC) on Saturday afternoon in Chambers Hall.
Offensively, Medaille was leg by Meghale Ford's 19 points, while Johnathan Belton added 15 points and seven assists, and for Pitt-Greensburg also in double-figures was Jay Grubb as he added 10 points and grabbed six boards.
Nate Burt came off the bench and provided a defensive presence for the Bobcats as the freshman totaled a career-high four blocks.
The Mavericks managed to force 28 turnovers by the Bobcats and turned the TO's into 31 points compared to just eight for the Bobcats.
In defeat, the Bobcats held their own on the glass trailing just 40-38, including 12-10 on the offensive glass, but held the Mavericks to just 16 second chance points.
The Bobcats trailed for the entire game but despite holding a double-digit advantage for much of the first half, the Bobcats cut the defecit to 30-22 with just over five minutes left in the half.
Medaille pushed the attack for the remainder of the half and led 48-26 at halftime.
The Mavericks outscored the Bobcats 42-31 in the second half and went on for the 90-57 victory.
Pitt-Greensburg returns to the court Wednesday, when it hosts Mt. Aloysius at 8:00 p.m. in the Chambers Hall Gymnasium.
