WASHINGTON, D.C.- Despite a valiant effort from junior Erica Bosh and the Bobcats, the Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team (0-8) fell in straight-sets to Shenandoah and Catholic on the final day of the Catholic University Tournament.
At the conclusion of the tournament, Bosh was named to the All-Tournament team. The junior defensive specialist was one of three players for UPG to play all 13 sets over the two days and was a beast on the defensive end positing a team-high 65 digs and also pitched in offensively with three kills.
In the first match of the day, UPG lost to Shenandoah in three sets, 25-14, 25-18, 25-20 and fell 25-9, 25-15, and 25-14 in the final match of the day to host Catholic.
Against the Hornets, Autumn Karlheim led the way with four kills while Amanda Ross added two. Lauren Tassone had a service ace and led the team with four blocks for the match. In the three-sets against the Cardinals, Tassone and Karlheim each had four kills to lead UPG and Tassone and Ross each chipped in with two blocks.
The Bobcats will be back in action Tuesday night for its home-opener, when it welcomes Waynesburg to Chambers Halll. Tuesday's match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
