GREENSBURG, Pa- The Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team (1-8) defeated Waynesburg (0-7) in three sets (25-23, 25-22, 25-13) for its first win of the season, in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon inside Chambers Hall.
Amanda Ross led the way for the Bobcats with eight kills, while Renee' Ault added seven and Lauren Tassone had six. Once again, Pitt-Greensburg was a force with the ball totaling six aces for the match. Paige Burk totaled two aces, while Maria Shaffer and Emma Dongilli each had one.
Defensively, the Bobcats blocked Waynesburg six times and were led by Ross' three stuffs. Also on the defensive end, Erica Bosh kept play alive with a game-high 24 digs, while Kassi Niver had nine and Dongilli totaled eight.
Dongilli also proved to be a force with the volleyball achieving 19 assists.
In the defeat, Rachel Lang and Jordan Wylie each had seven kills, while defensively Sydni had seven digs and chipped in with a game-high 27 assists.
Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Thursday (Sept. 15) when it welcomes Chatham to Chambers Hall. Thursday's match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
