GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team (2-8) claimed its second win in a row, as it defeated Chatham (0-10) in straight-sets (25-20, 25-18, 27-25) on Thursday evening inside Chambers Hall.
Amanda Ross led the way with eight kills for the Bobcats, while
Autumn Karlheim and
Lauren Tassone each totaled six and five kills respectively.
Paige Misawic played a key role in Pitt-Greensburg's victory providing great sets for the Bobcats attacks, as she totaled 10 assists for the match, while
Emma Dongilli came off the bench and added nine assists.
A big turning point in the match was the Bobcats opened both the second and third games with 9-0 runs.
The third and final game of the evening provided the fans with much excitement. Pitt-Greensburg held a 22-20 lead before Chatham reeled off four-straight which set up game point for the Cougars. Consecutive kills by Tassone and Karlheim tied the game at 24.
Chatham and Pitt-Greensburg traded points again before the Bobcats answered with back-to-back points to secure the match.
The Bobcats return to the court Friday (Sept. 16) when they open AMCC play at La Roche. Friday's match is set for 7:00 p.m.
