STEUBENVILLE, Ohio- The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team split its two matches on Saturday, dropping a 3-1 decision to Hillbert (18-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-19) and taking down Medaille 3-0 (25-19, 25-11, 25-17) in the final match of the afternoon.
With the split, Pitt-Greensburg is now 3-12 overall on the season and evens its conference record to 1-1.
Lauren Tassone paced the Bobcats with 23 kills,
Renee' Ault was right behind her with 21, while
Autumn Karlheim and
Amanda Ross each chipped in with 17 and 12 respectively.
Defensively,
Erica Bosh had 17 kills to lead the Pitt-Greensburg effort and both Medaille and Hillbert had trouble dealing with Tassone, as she totaled nine blocks in the two matches. The senior outside hitter recorded four solo blocks and five assists. Ault also proved to be a force as she assisted on four blocls as well, while Ross made three blocks on her own.
Pitt-Greensburg returns home for its next match Wednesday, when it hosts Mount Aloysius in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference battle at 7:00 p.m.
