GREENSBURG- After dropping the first set to Mount Aloysius (4-12, 0-3 AMCC), the Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team (4-12, 2-1 AMCC) won three straight sets to defeat the Mounties 3-1 in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup on Wednesday evening in Chambers Hall Gymnasium.
Mt.Aloysius took the opening set 25-17, but the Bobcats responded winning the final three sets, 25-20, 25-23, and 25-20.
Pitt-Greensburg had a balanced attack for the evening as three players had nine or more kills.
Lauren Tassone led the way with 11 kills and
Amanda Ross and
Autumn Karlheim each had nine.
Tassone and Karlheim also contributed on the defensive end with three blocks, while senior
Autumn Karlheim also got in on the block party with three stuffs.
Paige Misawic and
Emma Dongilli proved great sets for the Bobcats hitters, as Misawic totaled 24 assists and Dongilli added 14.
Erica Bosh played an impressive game as the libro, totaling a team-high 26 digs while Dongilli also proved to be a defensive force with 15 digs.
Pitt-Greensburg returns to action this Saturday (Oct. 1) for two matches, facing Hollins at 11 a.m. and Shendanoah at 3:00 p.m.
