Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

@UPGbasketball Earn First Win Under Head Coach Brody Jackson

GREENSBURG- The Pitt Greensburg Men's basketball earned their first win of the season Friday evening, defeating Penn State Fayette 79-69. Freshman Cam Seigfried led the Bobcats in a breakout performance tallying 19 points and nine rebounds.

Jay Grubb and David Runco also scored in double-digits for the Bobcats, totaling 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Penn State Fayette had three players in double-figures on the evening, led by London Hoxie's 25 points on 9-for-18 from the field.

Pitt Greensburg got on the scoreboard first courtesy of a Cam Seigfried layup.  Both teams continued to swap baskets for most of the first half until the Bobcats lead ballooned to 13 points on a three-pointer from Seigfried. However, Penn State Fayette would battle back to tie the game on a 14-3 run capped off by a Hoxie three-pointer.  A basket and two free throws from Grubb would give the bobcats the lead once again, 39-35 going into the half.

Pitt Greensburg would hold the lead for the remainder of the game, extending their lead to 15 points on a Jay Grubb layup with 9:51 to play.  Fayette made a late run, closing the deficit to one point with 2:56 left on a Tavian Mozie old fashioned three-point play, but the Bobcats would hold on for the 79-69 win, going 7-of-10 at the free throw line down the stretch.

The Bobcats are off until next Saturday (Nov. 25), when they take on Messiah College at 2 p.m. in their first road game.
