@UPGbasketball Can Not Overcome First Half Defecit In Loss At Messiah Saturday



GRANTHAM- Messiah knocked down eight three-pointers and shot 51.4% in the first half as it defeated the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team 76-47 in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon. 

Messiah improves to 3-2 overall with the win, while Pitt-Greensburg drops to 1-2. 

Messiah came out on fire in the opening half of action, knocking down 18-of-35 for 51.4% and drilled 8-of-its-16 three-point attempts en route to a 46-23 advantage at the halftime intermission. 

Pitt-Greensburg would come out with a better defensive performance in the second half, holding the Falcons to just 27.6% shooting and 3-for-8 from behind the three-point arc. The Bobcats made 10-of-22 field goal attempts in the second half, but were just 1-of-8 from three-point land. 

Nick Kotecki paced the Bobcats with a career-high nine points and both David Runco and Cody Spaid each chipped with with eight and seven points respectively. Spaid also hauled down a team-high seven rebounds and Runco drilled 2-of-4 from distance. 

Messiah had three-players score double-digits and were led by Matt Glogowski, who totaled a game-high 15 points. 

In defeat, the Bobcats made the most of their offensive possessions totaling a season-high 15 assists on 20 made field goals. 

Pitt-Greensburg returns home Wednesday afternoon, welcoming Penn State Altoona for its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opener. Wednesday game is scheduled for a 6 pm tip-off.
