@UPGbasketball Closes Out 2017 With Win Over Ohio State-Lima

BLUFFTON, Ohio- The Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team closed out 2017 with a 93-55 win over Ohio State-Lima in the consolation game of the McDonald's Holiday Tournament hosted by Bluffton University. 

Pitt-Greensburg improves to 4-6 on the season, while Ohio State-Lima falls to 3-7. 

The Bobcats placed five players in double-figures led by Cam Seigfreid and Joe Mancini's 15 points each. Nick Kotecki added a career-best 13 points, while David Runco and Nate Burt also notched double-digits with 12 and 10 points respectively. 

Cody Spaid aided the Bobcats in the win, hauling down a game-high 11 boards to go along with seven rebounds, while Burt also nearly notched a triple-double grabbing eight rebounds and setting a new school-record with an astonishing nine blocks, smashing the previous record of five. 

Pitt-Greensburg put together a great offensive performance shooting just under 50% for the game, as it hit 37-of-75 for a 49.3% clip, which included knocking down 50% from the field in the first half. 

The Bobcats took great care of the ball Saturday afternoon, committing a season-low 11 turnovers, meanwhile forcing 14 mistakes from Ohio State-Lima, which resulted in a 14-9 advantage in points off turnovers. 

Pitt-Greensburg dominated the glass on both ends of the court outrebounding the Barons 56-37, including a 14-10 margin on the offensive glass. The Bobcats continued to get the ball to its front court players for much of the afternoon, which resulted in Pitt-Greensburg holding a 50-18 advantage in points in the paint. 

The Bobcats jumped out to a quick 14-2 lead over the first 3:30 of the opening half, and a layup from Isaiah Zeise at the buzzer to end the first half gave Pitt-Greensburg its largest lead of 46-26 heading in to the halftime break. 

Pitt-Greensburg would lead by as much as 38 late in the second half and it would go on for a 93-55 victory. 

The Bobcats return to the court Wednesday, when they take to the road to face Franciscan at 6 pm.
