GREENSBURG-After coming up on the short end of a 9-8 decision in game one, the Pitt-Greensburg baseball team exploded for 20 runs on 21 hits in a 20-11 victory at Mt. Aloysius Tuesday afternoon.
Game 2- Pitt-Greensburg 20, Mt. Aloysius 11
This is the second game this season this season that the Bobcats have scored at least 20 runs, which included a 10-run first inning, which is the most runs in a single inning Pitt-Greensburg has scored all season.
Tyler Holland led the way at the plate with a perfect 6-for-6 performance, with three runs and four RBI. Holland's six hits in the game are a new program record for most hits in a single game, breaking the previous feat which was done on five different occasions, most recently by
Chris Common last year.
Pitt-Greensburg got off to a fantastic start as it scored 10 runs on nine hits and brought a total of 14 batters to the plate in the inning.
Ryan Dodson got the inning going with an RBI single and would later score on a passed ball.
Ian Hart drove home two runs, andÂ
Daniel Kiester,
Dylan Pounds,
Patrick Aul, and Dodson recorded four-straight RBI base hits. After the Mounties made a pitching change, Holland drilled a double, which scored Dodson and Aul to complete the monster first inning.
Jake Bulick drove in a run in the second with a sac fly, and in the third, Holland went deep with a two-run home run, followed by
Mike Parlak, who drilled a ball up the middle, driving in Common.
The Bobcats would score a run in all but two innings as it would go on for the 20-11 win and complete the split of the doubleheader.

Derek Shaw scored Parlak with a run-scoring single.
Holland and
Mike Spadafore each recorded an RBI in the fourth and fifth to extend the Pitt-Greensburg lead to 4-0, but Mt. Aloysius responded with five runs in the fourth to take the lead.
The Bobcats struck for four runs in the sixth, as Pounds drove in two with a triple, and Holland cleared the bases with a home run, but the Mounties would once again come back in the bottom of the inning with three runs to tie the game.
Pitt-Greensburg was held without a hit in the final inning and with the bases loaded, Vincent Jaco laid down a squeeze bunt, which scored Chase Miller and sent Mt. Aloysius to the walk-off win.
The Bobcats return to the diamond Wednesday, when they play host to Chatham at 3:00 p.m.
