@PIttGbgbaseball Explodes For 21 Runs In Victory Over Waynesburg

GREENSBURG- In what could be its highest offensive outburst it has all season, the Pitt-Greensburg baseball team broke out the bats Monday afternoon, scoring a season-high 21 runs on 20 hits as it defeated Waynesburg 21-11 in a non-conference matchup.

The two sides both got the bats going in the single nine inning game Monday afternoon, combining for 42 runs and 33 hits.

Monday's outing also featured a total of three home runs, two for Pitt-Greensburg and one for Waynesburg. Jonathon Kletzli went deep for the Yellow Jackets, while Chris Common and Tyler Lilja went yard for the Bobcats.

Dylan Pounds had a game-high four hits on the afternoon as the senior shortstop went 4-for-6 with three runs and an RBI. Ryan Dodson, Common, and Lilja each drove in four runs for the Bobcats, while Common and Dodson each collected three hits.

Pitt-Greensburg got things going in its first at-bats of the game as Zack Zimmerman was hit by a pitch and Pounds followed with a double to left center to put runners on second and third with no outs. After Common struck out, Dodson followed with an RBI single to score Zimmerman and both Holland and Patrick Aul each drove in a run with two outs to complete a three-run first inning.

Waynesburg got a run back in the second but the Bobcats would come right back in the bottom of the inning and put up a six spot. Pounds, Dodson, Tyler Holland, and Anthony Pacelli each drove in a run and Common plated two on a single to right center.

Pitt-Greensburg was at it again in the third with five additional runs crossing home plate, but its bats were kept silent until the seventh when Common led off with a solo blast.

Lilja sent the crowed into a fury in the eighth as he came up with the bases full of Bobcats and cleared the bases with a grand slam as Pitt-Greensburg would go on for the victory.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, when they travel to Pittsburgh to face La Roche for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
