Karlheim’s 20 Kills Power Women’s Volleyball Past Waynesburg

GREENSBURG- Autumn Karlheim's 20 kills propelled the Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-23,17-25,25-21,25-17) victory against Waynesburg in a non-conference matchup Wednesday evening in Chambers Hall.

Karlheim totaled a season-high 20 kills on 47 attacks for a sparkling .255 hitting percentage, and as a team the Bobcats connected on a .206 hitting percentage, their second highest percentage this season.

Erica Bosh put up some impressive numbers of the defensive end with 20 digs, while Pitt-Greensburg ran the majority of its offense through sophomore Emma Dongilli, who assisted on 36 of the 45 kills.

Offensively, Amanda Ross contributed with 12 kills and Rayli Turek was not far behind with six.

The two sides traded sets to begin the match and Pitt-Greensburg jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead to begin the third game, but Waynesburg came storming back and would tie the match at 15. The Bobcats would hold on for the win in the third set and would go on to win the match 3-1.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to the court this Saturday, when it travels to Hamburg, N.Y. to face Medaille and Hilbert. The match against Medaille is set for 1 pm, while the matchup with Hilbert is slated for a 5 pm first serve.
