HAMBURG, N.Y.- The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team split two matches Saturday afternoon, falling to Medaille 3-1 (27-29, 29-27, 18-25, 22-25) but salvaged the day taking down host Hilbert 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-14) in the second game of the day.
Amanda Ross put together an impressive afternoon for the Bobcats, totaling 21 kills on 51 attacks, for a sparking .235 hitting percentage.
Autumn Karlheim finished the day with 17 kills, while
Rayli Turek and
Marissa Leonard added 15 and 10 kills respectively.
Emma Dongilli and
Erica Bosh put on a display from behind the service line as they each totaled four service aces, while Bosh added 47 digs and Dongilli totaled 59 assists.
In the first game of the afternoon, Pitt-Greensburg and Medaille needed extra points to decide the set, and it was the Mavericks that took opening game 29-27, but the Bobcats answered back and tied the match at one set each, with a 29-27 victory. However, the Mavericks would go on to take two-straight games and held on for the 3-1 victory.
The Bobcats return to the court Wednesday, when they travel to Cresson, Pa to face Mt. Aloysius at 7 pm
