GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg Volleyball team dropped its home opener to Chatham Tuesday evening, losing 3-0 in a non-conference match.
Chatham took the first set 25-18 and followed up with wins in the second and third set, 25-20 and 25-15 respectively.
Marissa Leonard (Bellwood, Pa, Bishop Guilfoyle ) and
Autumn Karlheim (Patton, PA, Cambria Heights) each led the Bobcats with four kills, while
Amanda Ross (Rector, PA, Ligonier) was right behind with three.
Erica Bosh (Pittsburgh, PA, Keystone Oaks) excited the crowd with four service aces and was excellent on defense, totaling a game-high 15 digs, while
Emma Dongilli (Pittsburgh, Pa, Baldwin) chipped in with 17 assists, which led both teams in that category. Â
Justyne Lasher paced the Cougars with a game-high 11 kills. McKenzie Bates set up the Chatham attack achieving 15 assists, whole Delaney Gordon kept the play alive totaling a team-high 10 digs.
Pitt-Greensburg returns to the court this weekend in DC for the Catholic University of America Tournament. The Bobcats will face Catholic (4 pm) and Wesley (6 pm) Friday afternoon and conclude the tournament with matches against Albright (10 am) and Salisbury (2 pm) on Saturday.
