GREENSBURG- Cam Seigfreid's career-high 26 points led the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team to a 74-71 victory over Messiah, in a non-conference contest Tuesday evening inside Chambers Hall.

Cody Spaid was a force on the boards all evening long for the Bobcats, tallying a game-high 11 rebounds. nine of which came in the opening half.  Tommy Arbuckle came off the bench and gave the Bobcats a lift, as the freshman guard scored a career-high nine points including hitting two clutch three-pointers.

For the game, Pitt-Greensburg shot 52% from the floor, making 28-of-54 attempts and also displayed a tremendous advantage from deep, knocking down 9-of-20 from behind the three-point arc.

Defensively, the Bobcats held Messiah to 42% (27-65) shooting and did a great job of chasing the Falcons off the three-point arc, holding the visitors to just 3-of-14 from distance, including 1-of-8 in the second half.

Messiah held a 10-5 lead early in the opening half on a layup from Colin Sareyka, but Pitt-Greensburg reeled off a quick 8-0 run, which was capped by a jumper from Kyle Bondi with 14:12 left in the opening half.

The Falcons responded with a 7-0 advantage of their own over the next four minutes, but the Bobcats got back-to-back baskets from Matt Johnson and Seigfreid to grab the lead back for the remainder of the half. Pitt-Greensburg went into the halftime break leading 38-33.

The Bobcats remained in front for the entire second half and a jumper by Seigfreid at the 4:09 mark gave the Bobcats their largest lead of the contest 67-56. The Falcons however, would not quit and continued to whittle down the deficit and would get the score to one possession (71-68) with 46 seconds left in regulation.

Two free-throws from Seigfreid pushed the lead back to five for Pitt-Greensburg, but following a timeout from Messiah, Sareyka made an off-balance three-pointer to make the score 73-71.

On the next possession, Johnson missed a free-throw attempt, which gave the ball back from the Falcons, but following the free-throw, Sareyka's attempt was no good.

With three seconds left, Messiah intentionally fouled JoJo France, sending the freshman to the line. France connected on the second of his two attempts to put the Bobcats up 74-71. After the make from France, Messiah had a chance to tie the game and send it into overtime, but the Falcons made an errant pass and turned the ball over and Pitt-Greensburg would go on for the 74-71 win.

The Bobcats return to action Saturday evening, when they take the short trek to Latrobe for a matchup with St. Vincent. Saturday's contest is scheduled for a 7 pm tip-off.
