GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg baseball team swept a doubleheader against Mount Aloysius Wednesday afternoon at Bobcat Park.

With the victories, Pitt-Greensburg improves to 12-7 overall and moves to 5-1 in conference play, while Mount Aloysius falls to 4-15 and 2-2 in the AMCC.

With a grand slam in the top of the first inning in game one, Chris Common became Pitt-Greensburg's all-time leader in career home runs with 19, breaking the previous mark of 18, held by Bryan Colish (2010-12)

After clubbing 10 home runs and belting out 42 hits yesterday afternoon at Penn State Altoona, the Bobcats continued their hot streak at the plate, smashing six home runs and totaling 28 hits.

Reno Rainey and Tyler Holland each collected five hits on the day, Mike Parlak added four base knocks, and Patrick Aul chipped in with three hits. Zack Zimmerman and Chris Common also contributed to the sweep with two base hits.

Matt Mish earned his first win of the season as he went all seven inning and struck out two.

The Mounties took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Nick Belka, but the Bobcats came right back in the bottom of the inning and jumped on top 4-1, as Common smashed a grand slam.

Aloysius added a run in the second and posted two in the third to tie the game four heading into the home half of the third. In the bottom of the inning, Rainey crossed home plate on a sacrifice fly by Mike Parlak to give the Bobcats a 5-4 advantage after three innings of action.

Mount Aloysius would eventually take a one run advantage as two runs crossed home plate in the fifth inning, but Holland put Pitt-Greensburg in the lead for good, as he smashed a three-run bomb over the left field fence inn the bottom of the inning.

The Bobcats added four insurance runs in the sixth, as Dolan and Holland each smashed two-run bombs to send Pitt-Greensburg to the 12-6 win.

Game 2- Mount Aloysius 6, Pitt-Greensburg 9

Nick Belka drove in Matt McCourt on an RBI single to put the Mounties up 1-0 in their first at-bats, but Holland, Parlak, and Aul each had run scoring hits in the bottom of the inning as the Bobcats led 3-1 after the first inning.

Pitt-Greensburg added three runs in the bottom of the second inning and forced the Mounties to make a pitching change in the middle of the inning.

Joe Hudak smashed a solo shot in the top of the fourth for Aloysius, but Pitt-Greensburg got the run right back in the bottom of the frame, as Dolan led off with a solo home run.

Pitt-Greensburg would added a run in both the sixth and eighth innings, while the Mounties tallied a run in the seventh, as the home team led 9-3 heading into the top of the ninth.

It looked as if the Bobcats would roll to the win, but Matt McCourt smashed a three-run home run and the Mounties would load the bases with just one out, with the possible go-ahead run stepping to the plate.

The Bobcats went to the bullpen and Abdi Rodriguez-Polanco was called upon in relief. The freshman right hander managed to struck out TJ Wardell and Daniel Single and sent Pitt-Greensburg to the 9-6 win.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to the field Friday afternoon as it plays host to Medaille for a doubleheader starting at 1 pm.
