@Pittgbgbaseball Splits With Pitt-Bradford On Senior Day

GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg baseball team saw its seven game win-streak snapped dropping the opening game of a doubleheader to Pitt-Bradford Saturday afternoon, but earned a split with a victory in game two.

The Bobcats dropped the opening game of the day 19-8, but earned the split, taking game two by a 10-5 mark.

Reno Rainey and Tyler Holland each paced Pitt-Greensburg with four hits. Rainey went 4-for-7, with four runs, three doubles and drove in three runs, while Holland went 4-for-9, with a double and two RBI.

Abdi Rodriguez gave Pitt-Greensburg a solid start on the mound in game two, tossing five innings, allowing just one earned run and struck out four to earn his third win of the season.

Game 1- Pitt-Bradford 19, Pitt-Greensburg 8

Bradford scored two runs in their first at-bats, but the Bobcats came right back in the bottom of the inning and tied the game at two.

Pitt-Bradford took control of the game, adding four runs in the second, eight in the third, and three in the fourth.

Despite the lopsided score, the Bobcats had their chances at the plate, but left the bases loaded on three different occasions.

A highlight came in the sixth inning for Pitt-Greensburg, as Mike Parlak belted his 10th home run of the season and his fourth home run in the last six games.

Game 2- Pitt-Bradford 5, Pitt-Greensburg 10

The game remained scoreless until Pitt-Greensburg took the lead in the third inning. Beasley smacked a one-out double and moved over to third on a ground out from Mike Dolan.

The junior second baseman scored the first run of the game on a double by Rainey and Holland plated the second run with a double to right center.

Bradford tallied a run in the fourth inning, but the Bobcats came right back and took control of the game with a four-run fourth inning. Common was hit by a pitch to begin the inning and Pat Aul and Ian Hart walked and singled respectively to load the bases. Zack Zimmerman showed discipline at the plate, drawing a bases loaded walk and later in the at-bats, Rainey singled home Zimmerman as Pitt-Greensburg led  6-1 after four innings.

Bradford cut the lead to 6-4 with three runs in the fifth, but Pitt-Greensburg added a run in the fifth, two in the sixth, and one in the seventh and would hold on for the 10-5 victory.
The Bobcats return to the field Tuesday afternoon, when they host La Roche for an AMCC doubleheader starting at 1 pm.
