HOW IT HAPPENED

Mish recorded two strikeouts in the top of first and in the home half of the frame, the Bobcats took a 1-0 lead on a run by Zack Zimmerman. Zimmerman led off the inning with a five-pitch walk and advanced to second on an error. Chris Common moved the runner over to third with a ground out and Zimmerman came around to score the first run of the afternoon as Tyler Holland reached on an error by the Lions.

Neither team would score in the second stanza, but in their third at-bats of the game, the Lions plated two runs on three hits and took advantage on an error to take a one-run lead (2-1) to the bottom of the fourth.

The Pitt-Greensburg offense would come alive in both the fourth and fifth inning to put the Bobcats ahead for good. Rainey drew a walk to start the inning after an eight-pitch battle with Jack Herzing and Mike Parlak followed, drilling an 0-1 pitch through the right side for a single. On the Parlak hit, Rainey made it all the way to third and came around to score as the Lions booted the ball on the Parlak hit. Mike Dolan drew the second walk of the inning and Aul followed the walk with a grounder to second that was misplayed, allowing Parlak to score on the play. Ian Hart drilled an RBI single to centerfield for the third run of the inning to put the Bobcats ahead 4-2.

Penn State Behrend got a run back in the fifth, but the Bobcats answered with tallies in the bottom of the inning as Pitt-Greensburg held a 7-3 lead heading into the sixth inning.

Mish continued his dominance on the mound allowing just two hits over the final four innings and Parlak gave the Bobcats an insurance run in the eighth inning on an RBI triple as Pitt-Greensburg would defeat Penn State Behrend 8-3.
