Women’s Volleyball Plays Three Matches In Virginia

WINCHESTER, Va.- The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team competed in a tri-match at Shendenoah this weekend against host Shendenoah (13-25, 11-25, 9-25), Wilson College ( 18-25, 16-25, 19-25) and Marywood (18-25, 19-25, 16-25). The Bobcats dropped all three matches by identical scores of 3-0.  

Saturday's matches also were the debut of head coach Erica Bosh, who took over as head coach following the resignation of Clay Karadus.

Offensively, Alexis Ray posted 24 kills on 88 attacks for a .102 attack percentage to lead the Bobcats. Sabre Turner also chipped in with 11 kills, while Kasi Niver and Marissa Leonard each tallied eight kills. Niver put together a solid effort serving with four service aces, while Brittany Eyler and Emma Dongilli each added three aces.

Dongilli aided the Bobcats offensive output with 47 assists and defensively, Niver added 28 digs. Turner also provided great defensive play notching 27 digs, while Ray made it difficult for opponents with a team-best two blocks.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Thursday evening when it takes to the road to face Waynesburg at 7 pm. The Bobcats turn right around and host cross-town foe St. Vincent for their home opener Friday night at 7 pm.
