Volleyball Scores Wins Over D’Youville And Hilbert Saturday At Penn State Altoona

ALTOONA- The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team picked up 3-0 wins over D'Youville and Hilbert Saturday afternoon at Penn State Altoona.

With the victories, Pitt-Greensburg improves to 7-15 overall and 3-3 in the AMCC.

Pitt-Greensburg 3, D'Youville 0

In the win over D'Youville, the Bobcats easily took the opening set 25-12, but gutted out wins in the second and third stanza's for the victory. The Bobcats outlasted the Spartans 30-28 in set two and would record the straight-set victory with a 27-25 win in the final set.

Mackenzie Schropp and Emma Halutick led the way for Pitt-Greensburg tallying 13 kills each, followed by Zoe Sheffler who had seven.

Emma Dongilli had a game-high 35 assists, while Kathleen Price led the team with 13 digs. Alexis Ray and Sheffler each posted three blocks to help guide the Bobcats to the win.

In total, Pitt-Greensburg tallied 41 kills on 129 swings for a .116 hitting percentage and held D'Youville to just 25 kills and a .009 attack percentage. Of the 41 kills in the match, just over half (21) came in the second set, which is the most kills in a single-set this season.

Pitt-Greensburg would pick up a straight-set win with scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-18.

Leading the way offensive was Halutick, who tallied a game-high 12 kills, followed by nine from Schropp and five from Stephanie Schulte. Dongilli had an all-around solid match for the Bobcats, tallying 25 assists, 20 digs, one block, and three services aces, all of which led the team in those categories.

Pitt-Greensburg tallied 35 kills and had a .111 attack percentage, while it held Hilbert to just 19 kills and a -.009 percentage.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Tuesday evening, playing host to Mt. Aloysius at 7 pm.
