Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball Falls 80-74 To Behrend

Greensburg- Penn State Behrend shot 52% in the second half of play and hit 6-of-14 from behind the three-point arc as it grabbed an 80-74 victory over the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team, Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.

Prior to Saturday's tip-off, Kyle Bondi was recognized during Senior Day Festivities. Bondi put together a solid performance in front of a packed house, tallying 15 points, four rebounds, and added two steals.

Behrend and Pitt-Greensburg went into the halftime break tied at 36, but the Lions used a strong second half to hold on for the win. During the second half, the Lions shot 52% from the floor, hitting 15-of-29 attempts and knocked down 6-of-14 from three, while defensively they held Pitt-Greensburg to 13-of-31 and just 3-of-10 from three.

Cam Seigfreid led the way for the Bobcats with 19 points on 4-of-8 from the field and hit all nine of his free-throws, while JoJo France added 12 points and a team-high three steals.

Penn State Behrend had three players reach double-figures led by Justin Gorny's game-high 28 points on 12-of-18 shooting.

Both teams shot the ball extremely well in the first half with each side shooting 48% from the floor. Dan Wanker's free-throws with eight seconds left in the half put the Lions ahead 36-33, but David Knox drilled a three as the buzzer sounded and sent the Bobcats into the half all tied at 36.

Behrend led for the majority of the second half and with 3:41 left in regulation, Gorny's layup put the Lions up 71-58. The Bobcats would get back in the game behind a furious defensive effort and a three-pointer from France cut the deficit to five with 27 seconds left.

On the ensuing play, Behrend managed to break the press and Gorny converted a layup to put the Lions back up by seven. Bondi's free-throws once again got Pitt-Greensburg within five points (79-74), but time would expire and Behrend held on for an 80-74 win.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Wednesday evening, playing host to Franciscan for its regular-season home finale at 8 pm.
